Sinharaja Forest
Sinharaja Forest, located in the southwest of Sri Lanka, is a UNESCO-recognized biosphere reserve for its exceptional biodiversity. This tropical rainforest is one of the last remaining lowland areas in the country. It is considered a biological treasure due to its rich diversity of plant and animal species, many of which are endemic to the region. Long protected, Sinharaja Forest is important not only for conservation but also for scientific research and environmental education.
