Peradeniya Botanical Garden
The Peradeniya Botanical Garden, located near Kandy in Sri Lanka, is one of the largest and oldest botanical gardens in the country. Founded in 1821 by the British, it covers approximately 60 hectares and hosts a vast collection of tropical plants, including orchids, palm trees, and rare trees. The garden has royal roots, as it once served as a pleasure garden for the kings of Kandy. Today, it attracts researchers and tourists from around the world, drawn by its scenic beauty and rich botanical diversity.
